Have you ever been to the market for $10 worth of veg...!!!

Sunday morning we did the usual and dragged ourself's out of bed and went to the Beenleigh markets. This Sunday was just like all the others , we always find something we didn't come there to find. This Sunday was no exception, Sandy spotted a bookcase that she liked, it had been painted white but when she showed me i was un impressed, we have enough bookcases in our house, but Sandy had other ideas for this, she wanted to use it in the kitchen.

So after some bartering we leave with said book case, when we get it home and put it where Sandy wanted it, it actually looks great. "We should really paint before we put it put it on the wall", I hate it when i have to agree with her... I knew right then this was going to be a busy day.

So out the door again and down to Mitre 10 to look at paint. Now if you know me, or have been to my old house you know that i like bright...Not into dull, its got to be colourful, i am a photographer its all about colour and light.

The initial colour of purple had to be broken up with another lighter colour or the kitchen would look too dark, thats where the light blue kicks in, it really brightens and adds to the whole feel of the room.

So our $10.00 bag of veggies turned into a $120 kitchen makeover...Think i got away cheaply.

What do you think.

Did you notice the new flash animation on my front page..??

I was told about this really cool website called Guru.com its a sight that graphic designers bid for your work, you tell them what you want and they bid what they would do the job for. Very cheap and you don't pay till the job is done.

Shane & Emma's Engagement Shoot

Shane & Emma are getting married in a month so it was time for a engagement shoot, I am going to be in Emma's face all day so its a great opportunity to get to know her a bit better and for her to start to get used to me, and ultimately for her to trust that when i pose her it might seem odd at the time, but it looks different from where i am standing.

We just had a walk around Beenleigh stopping and shooting where the light looked nice, I also found a lovely little stone bridge along the way that we used and ultimately lead me to the silhouette shot which i love. Emma and Shane were very easy to work with and i am sure we will get some great wedding shots.

Here are some from today.

School Holidays

I took my daughter to Broken Heads caravan park for part of the school holidays, it was a ideal opportunity to try out our new camper trailer. We never checked the weather forecasts and we pick a week that it hadn't stopped raining continuously, when we got there it was just raining a little so we decided to put the tent up, half way through the sky opened and it bucketed down, and didn't stop till the following morning. Guess what.. We found out...It leaks, yep canvas is only waterproof to a certain level...then i just leaks, Sandy went on the rescue mission to Byron Bay to seek out a tarp and poles at 4.30pm. When Sandy got back it was dark and coming down by the bucket full. We got absolutely soaked getting the tarp on, but once it was up things started to look better.

Do you know what it sounds like in a monsoon in a tent.. Its something i couldn't sleep through, Ruby snored all night and i Sandy got a bit of sleep, but the tent never leaked

The next day wasn't that much better but we did manage to get out to the beach for a swim and a walk in between showers. That evening we went into the hills above Lismore to meet an old friend and have some dinner, was great to catch up and we had a really nice evening. When it was fine i did pull the camera out and take a few images.

But Dad...its 6am and raining and i don't want to go for a walk

Ruby Showing off as usual.

Ruby just loves the water...
