Beach Bum Shoot

I was asked some time ago to do a series of photographs along the theme of "Beach Bums" for some post cards for Byron Bay, althought the shots didnt end up as postcards for Byron Bay they did end up on the Glod Coast in small numbers. The shoot was fun the girls had a great time playing up and acting like supermodels and i was more than happy to have a couple of half naked women doing what i told them to do.

I have decided to post a few on my Blog for you lucky people to see..Enjoy

Kids are mad these days..No Fear

I shut the studio at noon today and thought i would take my new 40D for a bit of a test drive, where better to do this than the Beenleigh BMX track, Beenleigh is such a established suburb that it had a hugh skateboard and BMX track as well as a Baseball diamond, scoccer and footy fields.

Today was the BMX track.. The kids have no fear up vertical walls, getting off and back on there bikes while they are 5 mtrs in the air..Madness but great to photograph. The guys were taking it a little easy as it was hotter than hell and just watching them made me sweat.

Yepoon. New years eve

After spending Christmas in Brisbane and doing a studio shoot on the 30th December I jumped on a plane and went to Rockhampton for new year. New years eve i decided to grab my camera and take a walk down the beach. Although the weather wasnt the best I managed to get a few frames off and I was quite pleased with them.

Enjoy.

Studio Portraits Jeanette Scott & Family

30th December 2007

Christmas is sometimes the only time you can get a family together and this family was no exception, with kids coming in from interstate and only all here for a few days, Sunday 30th December was the only day they were all together and able to do a family shoot, I was happy to open the studio to accomadate.

The family had a firm idea of what they wanted and and all dressed in black for the shoot.

The girls were ready to play and it was a very relaxed and fun shoot.

My 1972 London Taxi

I have wanted a London Taxi for as long as i can remember , Its such a classic vehicle and a icon off London where i grew up. I was going to try to import one, but it was a far too expensive a project. I actually found this one in Adelaide. I bought it almost 9 months ago now. This cab is such a rare vehicle that their are less than 30 in the entire country.

I had some very firm ideas of what i wanted to do with it, (PIMP IT) and i have done almost all of what i wanted, and now it's almost finished. I wanted it to stay looking original from the outside but brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Geoff (the man i got it from) had the car and 2 others for over 20 years, I don't think he really knew what i had planned for it. I have taken a few pictures to show everyone what she is looking like now. This project has blown way out of budget but its well worth every cent i have spent on it. A totally unique vehicle like no other in the world.

Austin bonnet emblem (found in the Beenleigh markets on a Sunday morning..Love the Beenleigh markets)

Front Passengers side, i have another seat that i have not put back in yet, The roof liner is suede.

Front driver side, there wasn't much luxury given to the driver originally and the leg room is somewhat sparse, its a bit like driving a desk, it now has power leather seats from a Magna., power steering and Air-conditioning, so i have made it a nice as i can.

Dashboard and center console have been custom made (just like everything) to fit the air conditioning pipes for the rear compartment and controls and horn are above the vent.

Front stereo system, I have the same system in the rear compartment so passengers can watch a DVD or TV and i can still have my music in the front.(Hooked up to my ipod) when the glass partition is closed.

Rear compartment (Dead sexy don't you reckon)

Rear air con vents and stereo system, the DVD player is also connected to 2 extra screens, one in front and one in the rear. The flip down seats can also be seen (seats 5 in the rear compartment)

Previously you were not able to lock the rear doors because the lever could not be pushed up into the locking position, after some cleaver re-adjusting of the armrest, the locks now work and vehicle can be secured, finally i can get rid of the padlocks i locked it with in the past..

Engine bay with 4 ltr Ford XE falcon crossflow engine with a gas convertion and automatic gear box. God knows how they fitted the engine in.

Rear gas tank ,(Gas conversion by Dick Ralston Automotive) not a lot of boot space anymore, just enough room for a toothbrush.

One of the two amplifiers in the boot, 800 watt each. What did you say...Sorry cant hear you..

Reversing camera is wired to be on constantly, it can be seen under the "VINNIE" plate light.

All of the engine work and most of the internal customizing has been carried out by Steve from Oz-Rods, he is a total bloody legend. If he cant do it , it cant be done.
